In the 65th minute, Georgia had lost the ball on their left flank by Kaan Ayhan’s tackle, Turkey’s no.8 got the ball and finessed it into the top left corner of the post which was impossible to save by Mamardashvili. Georgia gave a response by the world class dribbling of Kochorashvili, beating a few defenders and even the goalkeeper but his shot hit the post. Mamardashvili made a save in the 87th minute to avoid the Turks making it 3-1. Georgia got a free kick in the 97th minute close to the halfway line, every one of the Georgian team, including the keeper went to Türkiye’s box.
Georgian superstar Kvaratskhelia’s free kick was saved by the Turkish keeper which gave Georgia a chance to score but was denied by Turkey. Georgia got a corner but was punched away by the Turkish keeper and Akturkoglu went on to score for Turkey to make it 3-1 in the last second of the match.
