Following the closure of educational institutions across the country due to severe heatwave conditions, classes have resumed today (May 5) in all secondary schools, colleges, and madrasas.
M.A. Khair, the Information and Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, announced the reopening in a press release on Saturday (May 4).
The release specified that although regular classes have resumed, each institution must adhere to several directives. These guidelines include:
1. No assembly until the heatwave subsides to a tolerable level.
2. Limiting outdoor educational activities.
3. Conducting classes on Saturdays.
4. No assembly in primary schools either.
Previously, educational institutions were scheduled to start classes on Saturday. However, a prior notice from the Ministry of Education on Friday (May 3), based on the forecast by the Meteorological Department, declared that all secondary schools, colleges, madrasas, and vocational institutions in the Khulna and Rajshahi divisions would remain closed on Saturday due to the ongoing heatwave.
