Due to security concerns, banks have been instructed not to allow withdrawals exceeding 200,000 BDT in cash per day for the rest of the week, according to a directive from the central bank.
A senior official from the central bank confirmed this information.
The banking regulatory authority has also instructed banks to monitor transactions made via cheques and to stop suspicious transactions.
A letter from the central bank stated that, for security reasons, cash withdrawals exceeding 200,000 BDT will not be permitted in the coming week.
