Interim government’s Law Adviser Asif Nazrul on Tuesday reaffirmed that the national election will be held in February and the government will leave office immediately after.
“We are determined on behalf of the government. The election will take place in February, and in February we will step down,” he said speaking to journalists at the Secretariat.
Commenting on differing remarks made by political parties regarding the election timeline, he said, “Political parties make different statements at different times. Many things are said in politics. Whatever has been said regarding the timing of the election, you should consider that as part of the political process.”
