At the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will embark on a three-day official visit to Malaysia on Monday (11 August).
During the visit, a high-level meeting between the heads of government of the two countries will take place on Tuesday (12 August).
A senior official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the discussion agenda includes ensuring fair and transparent recruitment of Bangladeshi workers, cooperation in the fields of energy, trade, higher education, halal food production, the blue economy, and tackling the Rohingya crisis.
Several cooperation documents, in the form of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and notes, are expected to be signed during the trip.
Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul, Energy Adviser Fouzul Kabir Khan, and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud bin Harun are likely to accompany the Chief Adviser.
In addition to bilateral talks, several other meetings are scheduled to take place during the visit.
