Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina distributed financial assistance to the families of those killed during the quota reform movement. The relatives of the deceased broke down in tears upon seeing the Prime Minister, and she also could not hold back her tears.
On Sunday, July 28, the family members of 34 individuals who were killed in various parts of the country, including Abu Saeed, a student of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur, came to the Prime Minister’s official residence, Ganabhaban.
The Prime Minister spoke with the family members of the deceased, offering them solace. She assured them that justice would be served, emphasizing that there are no words to console the loss of loved ones.
While providing financial assistance, the Prime Minister stated that she was always by their side. She questioned how one person could kill another and leave them hanging, vowing to bring the murderers to justice.
The Prime Minister reassured the families that the government stands by them in any need.
From July 18 to 23, internet connections were suspended in the country. Although it was partially restored, full internet services have not resumed yet. Mobile internet services will be restored this afternoon.
Additionally, the government imposed a curfew from midnight on Friday, July 19, to 10 AM on Sunday, July 21. The curfew has since been extended indefinitely, with some daily relaxation periods. As the situation improves, the duration of the curfew’s relaxation is gradually increasing.
