Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a strong warning to Hamas, stating that if all Israeli hostages are not released, “the gates of hell will be opened” in Gaza. He also emphasized that the unwavering support from the United States would help Israel achieve its objectives.
According to a report published by Al Jazeera on Monday, February 17, this statement came following a meeting between Netanyahu and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, marking their first meeting after the US presidential election. During the press briefing after the meeting, Netanyahu reinforced his stance on the hostage situation.
Meanwhile, displaced Palestinians in northern Gaza are facing an acute water crisis as they begin returning home following a ceasefire agreement. However, the truce was violated as Israel launched an attack on Gaza, killing three Hamas police officers.
US Secretary of State Rubio stated that the US President has a strategic plan for Gaza’s future and that he is actively working towards its implementation. This meeting highlights the ongoing diplomatic efforts and military tensions surrounding the Gaza conflict.
As the humanitarian crisis deepens and hostilities continue, global concerns grow over the region’s stability and the future of the Palestinian people.
