Sohel Arman, who received praise for directing ‘Ei To Prem’ featuring superstar Shakib Khan and Bindu, is making a comeback after a hiatus. After the release of the film in 2015, he hasn’t directed another movie. Breaking the break, Sohel Arman is returning with a new film titled ‘Songbad.’

On Saturday evening, May 18, during the film’s launch event, director Sohel Arman introduced the cast. The film features Irfan Sajjad, Aisha Khan, Sohel Mondol, Kazi Khurshiduzzaman Utpal, Salauddin Lavlu, Sajjad Hossain Dodul, Tahmina Sultana Mou, Azam Khan, among others. The director announced that shooting for ‘Songbad’ would commence continuously from June 1. Besides ‘Ei To Prem,’ Sohel Arman had started shooting another film titled ‘Bhramor,’ but couldn’t complete it. However, he is optimistic about finishing the remaining 60% of the film.

Regular drama actor Irfan Sajjad expressed his thoughts about ‘Songbad,’ saying, “Now is a good time for cinema. Cinema is a big medium. I’ve always wanted people to recognize me through movies. I’m still in that pursuit. The story of ‘Songbad’ is excellent. I decided to take on the role as soon as I heard about the character. Opportunities for such roles don’t come often. I hope ‘Songbad’ will play a significant role and be well

-received like other movies.”

Sohel Mondol shared, “This is my first time working with Sohel bhai. As soon as I heard the story, I felt the need to be a part of it. I am quite optimistic about this movie.”

‘Songbad’ will be based on a lost story from a Zamindar’s house in 1872. The screenplay has been written by Sohel Arman himself. The film is expected to release in theaters next year.
