Wuhan, Hubei Province (China) – The China International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition (CIAME) 2025, one of the world’s largest agricultural machinery exhibitions, officially began Sunday (October 26) at the Wuhan International Expo Center. The three-day international event will continue until October 28.
Spanning an area of 220,000 square metres, the exhibition features around 2,200 participating companies from across the globe. CIAME 2025 showcases the full spectrum of modern agricultural machinery and technology– from tilling, planting, irrigation, fertilisation, and harvesting to processing, automation, and smart farming solutions.
The event also highlights cutting-edge innovations such as drone technology, artificial intelligence–driven equipment, and digital agriculture systems. Exhibitors from more than 40 countries are taking part this year.
Bangladeshi participation
Several Bangladeshi agricultural machinery manufacturers, traders, importers, and media professionals are attending the event. They are exploring the latest innovations in agricultural mechanisation, new equipment models, and potential collaborations.
Mizanur Rahman, CEO of Metal Limited– one of Bangladesh’s leading agricultural machinery manufacturers participating in the fair– told Channel i Online: We are particularly interested in technologies and equipment suitable for rice, vegetable, and fruit cultivation, as well as machinery adapted for hilly and less-developed regions.

A legacy of innovation
The history of CIAME dates back nearly seven decades. Originating in the 1950s as the National Agricultural Products Ordering Fair, it was transformed into an international exhibition in 2011 through the joint efforts of three major Chinese organisations– the China Agricultural Machinery Distribution Association (CAMDA), the China Agricultural Mechanization Association (CAMA), and the China Association of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers (CAAMM).
Today, CIAME stands not only as China’s premier agricultural machinery fair but also as a central hub for the entire Asian agricultural machinery industry. Exhibitors from the United States, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, South Korea, India, and other developed nations are showcasing their latest innovations.

Technology & transformation
One of the main attractions of this year’s exhibition is intelligent, AI-powered agricultural machinery. From automated tractors and smart harvesting systems to drones and sensor-based irrigation and fertilisation technologies, CIAME 2025 highlights the rapid technological transformation shaping the future of farming.
Knowledge & cooperation
In addition to the machinery displays, several international seminars and policy forums are being held alongside the exhibition. These sessions bring together policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss sustainable mechanisation, global trade, and agricultural innovation.

Alexander Sun, Head of the International Department at CAMDA, told Channel i Online:
“Global agriculture is now facing the twin challenges of climate change and food security. In such a time, CIAME serves not only as a platform for showcasing technology but also as a bridge for agricultural development, knowledge exchange, and international cooperation. For Bangladesh, this event is highly significant, as exposure to advanced machinery and technologies from China and other developed countries can open new horizons for agricultural mechanisation.”
The exhibition will conclude on October 28, with organisers expected to announce plans for next year’s edition and future international collaborations.
