Dhaka, February 17, Monday – Food and Land Advisor Ali Imam Majumdar has assured that an adequate supply of rice has been secured for the upcoming Ramadan and Eid celebrations.
Speaking on the second day of the District Commissioner Conference, the advisor emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring food security during the holy month of fasting and the subsequent festivities.
He announced that one crore families would receive 10 kg of rice as a gift for Eid. Additionally, during Ramadan, 50 lakh families will be able to purchase 30 kg of rice at a subsidized price of 15 taka per kg under the government’s food assistance program.
Furthermore, Majumdar confirmed that between March and April, a total of 7.83 lakh metric tons of rice will be supplied across the country to stabilize the market and support the underprivileged population. He also assured that the pending land registration (Namjari) processes will be completed by March 10 to facilitate land-related administrative procedures.
Regarding the upcoming elections, the Food Advisor noted that the administration would be effectively utilized to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process.
