Student protests demanding reforms to the quota system in government jobs continue in Jashore. On Monday (July 15th), students from Jashore University of Science and Technology staged a demonstration in Jashore city.
It has been alleged that the protesters were attacked near the south gate of Jashore Government MM College.
Around noon, a protest march reached the Jashore Press Club on Mujib Road. At that time, a procession from Government MM College attempted to join the protest on Mujib Road but was obstructed by members of the Chhatra League. When the students tried to protest there, Chhatra League activists attacked and dispersed them.
In response, the students blocked Mujib Road for an extended period and continued their protest. The demonstrators chanted various slogans demanding quota reforms.
