Amid the deteriorating law and order situation in the country, reports of robberies have been received from various parts of the capital Dhaka, causing widespread panic among residents. To prevent robberies, residents are patrolling their neighborhoods at night in groups. Announcements are also being made through loudspeakers to spread awareness.

On the night of Wednesday, August 7, reports of robberies emerged from Mirpur, Mohammadpur, Pallabi, Basila, Uttara, and other areas of the capital. Many people are spreading the news through Facebook posts. Channel i’s reporters also received news of robberies in their areas.

In some areas, army personnel have detained members of the robbery gangs. However, many have complained that the army is not reachable by phone in time.

Taking advantage of the absence of police, incidents of snatching and robbery are occurring, creating an atmosphere of panic. Residents of the capital are demanding a quick restoration of law and order.

Meanwhile, the ISPR has stated that the Bangladesh Army has been deployed to provide overall security for public safety and the protection of important government establishments. Additionally, the public has been requested to contact the nearest army camp in case of any subversive activities, conflicts, or threats to life.
