Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has stated that Jamaat-Shibir will be banned as a terrorist organization under Section 18 of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2009. The Prime Minister made this announcement at a discussion meeting and prayer session organized by the Bangladesh Krishak League in remembrance of National Mourning Day at the Krishibid Institution on Thursday, 1 August.
The Prime Minister remarked, “The same kind of incident that happened in Gaza has happened in Bangladesh. Similarly, the resources of this country have been destroyed. I leave their judgment to the people. The people of this country will judge them.”
