Commenting on recent incidents centered around the quota reform movement, Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that Jamaat-Shibir and BNP militants have attacked us.
She made this remark during the opening speech of a meeting with central leaders of the 14-party alliance at Ganabhaban on Monday (29 July) evening.
Sheikh Hasina further stated that the nationwide rampage to disrupt the country’s development is entirely an act of militancy. She said, “The incidents happening in Bangladesh are not political but are entirely militant activities aimed at destroying Bangladesh.”
Regarding the anti-discrimination student movement for quota reform, Sheikh Hasina said, “It is now clear that quota is not an issue for them. They are targeting institutions that serve Bangladesh and improve the lives of its people, aiming to destroy them. Essentially, they want to destroy Bangladesh.”
Emphasizing the global recognition of Bangladesh’s development, the four-time Prime Minister said, “Today, Bangladesh has achieved development, gaining respect worldwide. People view Bangladesh with respect. We have successfully elevated Bangladesh to an international level through socio-economic and infrastructural development.”
