Earlier, on Tuesday, August 6, it was decided to form an interim government with Nobel Laureate Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus as the head. The decision was made in a meeting between President Md. Sahabuddin, the heads of the three armed forces, and the coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
It is noteworthy that thousands of students and people gathered in Dhaka for the ‘March to Dhaka’ program called by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. Amid the ensuing situation, Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister. This led to the demand for an interim government to run the country.
