The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has predicted a further drop in daytime temperatures across the country in the next 24 hours, leading to an increase in cold weather intensity. Additionally, light to moderate fog may blanket some areas late at night and in the early morning hours.

Temperature Changes and Cold Weather Impact

On Saturday, January 18, daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to remain unchanged. However, starting from Sunday, nighttime temperatures may drop slightly, and daytime temperatures could decrease by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius, making the cold more pronounced.

Foggy Conditions

  • Timing: Light to moderate fog is expected from late night until early morning.
  • Impact: Foggy conditions may disrupt visibility, causing challenges for transportation.

Extended Weather Forecast

  • Next 72 Hours: Dry weather will prevail across the country, with partly cloudy skies in some areas.
  • Next 5 Days: A slight change in weather conditions is anticipated, with minor temperature variations.

Precautions for the Public

  1. Keep warm clothing ready, especially for children and the elderly.
  2. Drive cautiously during foggy conditions to avoid accidents.
  3. Stay updated with local weather announcements for further developments.

The Meteorological Department has advised the public to remain prepared for the increased cold and take necessary precautions to cope with the changing weather.
