Light Drizzle Expected in Three Divisions, Nationwide Temperature Drop Forecast

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast colder weather accompanied by light drizzle in several parts of the country over the next 24 hours. According to the latest weather update on Wednesday (January 8), the temperature across the country may drop by up to 2 degrees Celsius, with moderate to dense fog likely to persist in the early mornings.

The forecast, valid until 6 PM today, predicts partly cloudy skies across most of the country. However, scattered light rain or drizzle is expected in a few areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.

Additionally, moderate to dense fog is expected from midnight until morning in the northern regions, while light to moderate fog may occur in other parts of the country. As a result, nighttime temperatures may slightly decrease, while daytime temperatures could drop by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius.

The BMD’s forecast for Thursday (January 9) indicates continued dense fog during the late night and early morning hours across the country, potentially disrupting air travel, river transport, and road communication. Night temperatures may decrease further by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures are likely to remain steady.

For Friday (January 10), the BMD predicts a slight drop in nighttime temperatures, with daytime temperatures remaining nearly unchanged. The department also noted that no significant changes in weather conditions are expected in the next five days.

Residents in northern and northeastern regions have been advised to prepare for colder weather and potential disruptions due to dense fog in the coming days.
