The capital is in turmoil as clashes erupt between anti-discrimination protesters and leaders and activists of the Awami League and its allied organizations. Several areas in Dhaka are witnessing chases, counter-chases, and cocktail explosions, with reports of injuries coming in from various locations.
These clashes, which began on Sunday morning (4 August), continue to rage. The movement has spread nationwide, affecting not just the capital.
In Merul Badda, protesters are engaged in chases and counter-chases with Awami League and Chhatra League activists.
In the Hope Market area of Mirpur, similar confrontations are taking place, accompanied by several cocktail explosions. So far, three people have been reported injured.
In Uttara, clashes between protesters and Awami League activists are ongoing. Similar confrontations are occurring across the city in Shahbagh, Mirpur, Dhanmondi, and Jatrabari, with protesters and Awami League activists facing off.
