Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has left for Dubai to attend the World Government Summit 2025.
On Wednesday (February 12), Chief Advisor’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Mojumdar confirmed this information to the media. Earlier, Professor Yunus and his delegation boarded an Emirates Airlines commercial flight that departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 7:45 PM.
Invitation to the World Government Summit
During a press briefing on Sunday (February 9), Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mohammad Rafiqul Alam mentioned that the World Government Summit 2025 will be held in Dubai from February 11-13.
To participate in this summit, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, formally invited Chief Advisor Professor Yunus through an official letter on January 13. Following this invitation, Professor Yunus is traveling to Dubai to attend the prestigious global event.
Representing Bangladesh on Global Challenges
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson further stated,
“Through his participation in the summit, the Chief Advisor will have the opportunity to present Bangladesh’s perspective on global issues. Additionally, he will discuss the ongoing economic and political challenges worldwide.”
Potential Multilateral & Bilateral Meetings
During his stay in Dubai, Chief Advisor Professor Yunus is expected to hold bilateral meetings with heads of state and government leaders from various countries.
