Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers with temporary gusty wind and moderately heavy to heavy rainfalls at different places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am today.

The weather bulletin issued this morning said, “Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Khulna and Barisal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.”

Also, the bulletin predicted that the ongoing mild heat wave which is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalgonj, Rajshahi and Pabna may continue. Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

Country’s maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 38.6 degrees Celsius jointly at Ishurdi, Tarash and Sylhet. While, today’s minimum temperature 23.5 degrees Celsius was recorded at Habiganj. Rainfall for the last 24 hours commencing 6 am today was recorded 66 mm at Habiganj.

The sun sets at 6:46 pm today and rises at 5:10 am tomorrow in the capital.
