On Tuesday (30 July), a nationwide state mourning is being observed in memory of those killed in the conflicts and violence surrounding the quota reform movement.
This decision was made at a cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday (29 July), chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Today, black badges will be worn, and prayer ceremonies will be held in mosques. Special prayers will also be organized in temples, churches, and pagodas.
It is worth noting that over the past few days, more than a hundred people, including elderly individuals, children, police officers, journalists, and students, have been killed in violence across the country.
