A mild cold wave is currently affecting five districts—Panchagarh, Kurigram, Jessore, Moulvibazar, and Gopalganj. According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), this cold wave may subside soon, and temperatures across the country are likely to increase slightly during both day and night.

In a weather forecast issued for the next 72 hours starting from 6 PM on Saturday (January 11), meteorologist Md. Shahinul Islam reported that the subcontinental high-pressure ridge extends over West Bengal and adjoining areas, while the seasonal low-pressure zone lies over the southern Bay of Bengal, with its extension reaching the northern Bay of Bengal.

Over the next three days, the weather across Bangladesh is expected to remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies. Light to moderate fog may occur in some parts of the country from late night to early morning. The forecast also indicates that nighttime and daytime temperatures may rise slightly over the next 24 hours.

For Sunday (January 12), the forecast predicts a slight increase in nighttime temperatures, while daytime temperatures may decrease slightly. On Monday (January 13), nighttime temperatures are expected to remain almost unchanged, but daytime temperatures may drop slightly. Additionally, the extended five-day forecast suggests that by the end of the period, temperatures may decrease further.
