Mafia Zakir has been arrested with a counterfeit money factory by the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Lalbagh division.
He was arrested today from Dania in Kadamtali, the capital.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Lalbagh division, Mashiur Rahman, confirmed the matter to Channel I Online.
He said, “Millions of counterfeit currencies have been recovered along with a fake money factory in Kadamtali. Mafia Zakir has also been arrested. The operation is still ongoing.”
DC Mashiur mentioned that detailed information about the counterfeit money will be shared in a press conference this afternoon.
DB sources indicated that the ring was attempting to supply these millions of counterfeit currencies to cattle markets for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha.
